JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

Based in Charlotte and reporting to the Senior Director, Global Communications, this position provides support to the Operations Teams in 18 North American regions and Global Communications Management Team by managing projects and public relations requests for North America, both internal and external. This position will also support communication strategy rollouts, play a leading role in media relations and crisis management, and be the spokesperson for these markets. 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Work with Operation Teams and Global Communication Management Team to enhance the company’s reputation and its brands in North America.
  • Play an advisory role for business units in North America and work closely with the teams;
  • Develop and deliver internal and external communication plans that highlight the brands, ways to enhance customer and employee experience, while promoting a local approach
  • Collaborate with functional groups  (Marketing, Fuels, etc.) to develop and implement actions and tools to support effective communications.
  • Work closely with the Operation Teams and Global Communication Management Team to advise them on communications related to age-restricted products and rollout action plans in North America.
  • Lead public relations efforts, including media relations, in critical situations.
  • Actively collaborate on projects derivative of business strategies and rolled out in North America.
  • Act as spokesperson.
  • REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, writing, journalism, interactive media or any other relevant training combination.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Held a spokesperson role in a previous position
  • Played a key role in a crisis management unit
  • Experience in a large business environment (an asset)
  • Experience in a company with offices in various parts of the world (an asset).

  • Great sense of judgment and proven ability to handle pressure and stress in a collaborative and positive spirit.

  • Ability to write, edit and translate various communications.

    Language Skills:

  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing;
  • Bilingualism (French and English), an asset.
