
Merchandise Analyst Intern
Job Summary: In the role of Merchandise Analyst Intern, you will work alongside our Local Merchandising/Marketing teams, providing support to the Category and Merchandise Manager Team, store operations, and vendor partners in everyday functions of their categories. You will conduct analysis of category performance, industry trends & insights, and support the Merchandise Department.
The ideal candidate has solid analytical and prioritization skills, as well as the ability to translate data into insights and actions.
This internship opportunity is available for immediate start. We are seeking candidates who can begin as soon as possible rather than during the summer.
Essential Functions:
Assist Category and Merchandise Managers in the management of day-to-day local vendor contact for all issues related to item set up, pricing, costs, product logistics, in-stocks etc. Analyze merchandise performance at the department, cluster, vendor, item, and location level, including analyzing store, regional, and business unit performance of pricing, promotion, and item assortment metrics. Organize, summarize, and visualize data into meaningful insights that communicate complex findings to non-analytical peers. Use technical expertise to conceptualize and develop new, reusable tools, models, and approaches to provide our partners with insights and recommendations to meet business goals. Understand, analyze, and provide support and recommendations to the Category and Merchandise Managers for all aspects associated with the local planogram assortment, planning, and process. Collaborate on promotional and pricing management and execute associated local activities. All other duties as assigned to achieve operational excellence in the business unit. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks; or participating in professional societies. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing determined Financial and Key Result Area targets pursuant to Company Plan guidelines.
Qualifications
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, Business Economics, Marketing or related field preferred. Retail experience preferred, but not necessary. Radical curiosity of retail and the constantly changing marketplace. Must be detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) required. Experience in Power BI preferred. Valid Driver’s License supported by a clean driving record.
