REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred. 
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Two to five years of accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system & Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills; experience with an enterprise accounting system preferable.
  • Ability to read and listen, understand and communicate information and ideas in a clear and understandable manner, both oral and written.
  • Ability to effectively analyze and evaluate information to make decisions, solve problems and achieve goals.
  • Ability to process information including gathering, assessing, coding, organizing, auditing, and verifying data.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact with Environmental Department and external environmental consultant to account for trust fund packages and insurance reimbursements.
  • Review the reserve against environmental insurance receivables quarterly with Director of Environmental Compliance and adjust as necessary.
  • Prepare month end journal entries.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Monitor environmental short-term receivables for collectability.
  • Code Trust fund checks received and communicate to Environmental Department.
  • Responds in a timely manner to questions from field personnel and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by accounting management.
