Job Description

Conduct Commissary and/or Bakery driver tasks including, but not limited to driving delivery vehicles, delivery of bakery and/or commissary goods to stores, delivery of seasonal goods in bulk amounts to stores, perform operator level maintenance/inspections on vehicles, freight receiving/stocking, general clean-up and detail clean-up and maintaining the interior and exterior of the Support Facility and associated vehicles. Shifts vary from first, second and third shifts including weekends and holidays.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive trucks up to and including 26’ straight truck with refrigeration units
  • Sort and pick orders for delivery route by store number
  • Load and unload product at Holiday Support Facility, Warehouse and Stationstore locations
  • Comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform vehicle inspections prior to and upon completion of each daily route
  • Complete appropriate paperwork and log books
  • Receive, verify, and process merchandise, freight and vendor shipments
  • Assist training new associates (with an emphasis on excellent customer service and safety)
  • Maintain vehicles interior and exterior appearance
  • Notify management in the event a vehicle needs maintenance and/or repairs that cannot be done by the operator.
  • Upon return from delivery rounds, unload and put away carts, trays, baskets, returns etc.
  • Interact with Stationstore employees, co-workers and customers in a courteous manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned by HSF Management, Supervisors and/or Leads
  • Perform all duties in compliance with USDA or FDA, OSHA, DOT and state and local regulations and company policies and procedures; including safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Quality Control oriented
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and management
  • One year truck driving experience preferred
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Attending or completion of High School or equivalent
  • Reach over your head frequently and comfortably
  • Prior food service experience preferred
  • No positive drug or alcohol test results or refusals to be tested for the two previous years
  • Must be able to read loading instructions, posted notices and training tests
  • Must be able to perform simple arithmetic skills – add, subtract and multiply
  • Must have high level of job motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must pass Department of Transportation Physical Capacities exam and drug screen
  • Must pass criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift, carry, pull, or push up to 60 pounds
  • Lift, carry, pull, or push up to 110 pounds with assistance
  • Bend, kneel, squat or stand frequently
  • Work in a heated and/or refrigerated/freezer area and/or outdoors
  • Climb an extension ladder
