Job Description


Reporting and controlling:

  • Be the central accounting contact for new joint venture with Musket to various accounting groups including shared services, financial reporting, taxes,treasury, etc.
  • More specifically the person will be the interface with shared services for request transfer of funds from shared services, have invoices reviewed including cost allocation and approved by key stakeholders to be processes after by shared services
  • Implement processes and controls between Musket and Circle K for all activities
  • Interpret financial reports for the joint venture and ensure proper back-up exists for the amounts invested by Circle K
  • Provide journal entries to be booked in Circle K book of records based on transactional details from the joint venture
  • Maintains and matures P+L model
  • Establish monthly results review with sourcing, accounting.
  • Establish key performance indicators as required
  • Ensures Department costs are controlled and anticipates any risks/opportunities
  • Assisting sourcing leadership teams with ad hoc financial analysis, overall performance insights
  • Prepare and various presentations to senior management


  • Ensures compliance with requirements, policies and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems, policies and governmental regulations.
  • Develop and enforce compliance across the value chain
  • Conduct audits on behalf of management
  • Continuously monitor fuel exposure
  • Establish and conduct testing of Key Controls and advise on development/changes needed

Business planning:

  • Leading and coordinating overall business planning process
  • Coordinating and aligning process and deliveries across stakeholders
  • Coordinating and aligning CAPEX needs/targets/plans with stakeholders
  • Supporting overall strategy and ambition level setting
  • Leading department cost and FTE budgeting process
  • Participate to the presentation of budgets to senior management
  • Advise organization on all delegation of authority matters


  • Assists with special projects as needed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related annual objectives.
  • Traveling required – approx. 2%-5% of the time


  • Qualified Accountant (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with 5-7 years relevant experience preferably in financial analysis, strategic planning, or budgeting and forecasting)
  • Experience in fuel environment, trading environment including knowledge of risk management in commodity markets will be seen as an advantage
  • Must have advanced knowledge in Excel; working knowledge PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
  • Experience in a commercial setting
  • Must have strong analytical and quantitative abilities; Must have strong attention to detail while being able to synthesis information
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Must have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of management.
  • Comfortable working independently, in cross-functional teams, and in a global role
  • Must be willing to adapt to a dynamic business environment, balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Have an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset with a strong drive to make it easy
  • Comfortable initiating actions and taking responsibility to secure agreed output
