SUMMARY

This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of company-operated car washes located primarily in an area that includes Charlotte, NC, Greenville/Spartanburg, SC and the surrounding areas. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains carwash equipment, carwash POS systems, and building by performing extensive preventive maintenance and repair work.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining carwash equipment, electrical systems, plumbing systems, water heaters, and electronic systems. 
  • Maintains site appearance by repairing carwash building doors, minor painting, imaging and decaling equipment. 
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year related experience.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, orally and written; perform basic arithmetic functions. 
  • Must have valid driver’s license with no major offenses.
  • Must be able to understand basic blueprints, electrical schematics, installation and service manuals.
  • Requires use of basic hand tools, power tools, and electrical measurement instruments.
  • Acetylene cutting and arc welding skills preferred.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.  

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Employee will work in and (mostly) out-of-doors to accomplish essential functions; must be able to stand and/or walk up to 10 hours per day.
  • Employee must have the manual dexterity and ability to operate equipment, work in confined spaces and in contorted positions; regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl; use hands to finger; handle or feel objects, tools or controls; occasionally required to climb.
  • Must be able to work with arms bent up for extended periods of time.  Employee must have the physical senses to work on moving machinery and electrical energized machinery in a safe manner.
  • Employee may be called upon to move equipment weighing several hundred pounds and to lift components which may exceed 100 pounds in weight.
  • Must have color vision and depth perception.
  • Frequently work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to wet, humid conditions (non-weather related), fumes and/or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • High noise level in the work environment.
