Job Description

Position: Digital Communications Manager

Reporting to: Head of Marketing

Department: Marketing

Location: Circle K Head Office  

Principal Objective of Position: 

Our Digital Communications Manager will be a key contributor to the marketing team by ensuring that all customer communications are optimally aligned to customer needs and expectations, as well as ensuring all sales and marketing processes fully utilise the potential from digital communications. There is a strong need in the role to understand and utilise new social media channels and to have strong communication skills.

You will be responsible for the development of Circle K digital communication strategy, support brand marketing and communication initiatives at a local level. You will also lead the development and management of all online, digital and social media marketing across the Circle K Group. You will be a key member of marketing team and will be expected to deliver a wide variety of digital initiatives focused on brand development, increasing customer satisfaction, profitability and sales. The candidate needs to have strong understanding of the full marketing mix and a thorough understanding of our business and local marketing to ensure maximization of digital campaigns and internal communications activities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Digital Marketing
  • Planning, executing and optimizing digital campaigns across social media, SEO, PPC, email and display that deliver on agreed targets and budget. Responsible for Website and Mobile Application platform maintenance i.e. technical error handling and bug fixes.
  • Content Management – Develop digital content for marketing purposes / brand building. Drive engagement across social media by creating exciting content calendars.
  • Updating and moderating the Circle K social accounts across Twitter, Facebook and You Tube.
  • Operational responsibilities for all digital communications
  • Responsible for internal communications via digital platforms across all business units
  • This can include the development and building of emails using software for both internal and external emails.
  • Together with HR, integrate social media into recruitment
  • Lead, co-ordinate and (preferably) create all imagery using inhouse creatives and toolkits to be used for social media imagery, digital advertising, website/app creative and input into overall user experience
  • Completing detailed analysis of the return on investment on all digital campaigns.
  • Managing the Circle K and Play or Park websites and APP including content changes, project management development changes and monitoring performance.
  • Making changes in the CMS to fall in line with above the line campaigns and helping departments with achieving their goals in this field.
  • Introducing new ideas and concepts across the Circle K brand digital platforms
  • Project Management for key strategic projects as well as tactical assignments as key marketing resource
  • Management of any Third-Party Agencies and collaborate with cross functional team such as IT for user testing and retail and HR for content changes.
  • Analyzing the Circle K Digital performance monthly including Website traffic and social engagement from, Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Firebase and sentiment dashboard. 
  • Monitor performance, analyse KPIs and report on same to all key stakeholders
  • Providing media support to the business i.e. recording video, taking images for internal and external use

  1. Annual Business Planning
  • Support with the development of the Annual Marketing Plan.

  1. Costs
  • Ensure effective management and control of the digital budget.
  • Implement appropriate cost control plans within the budget and business plan with the approval of the Head of Marketing.

  1. General
  • To undertake any additional projects / duties assigned by your manager which are consistent with the job holder’s expertise and skills

The successful candidate will have / be:  

  • A graduate education within a marketing discipline
  • Digital Marketing qualification
  • Minimum of 3 years marketing experience managing a portfolio of brands with a key focus on digital marketing.
  • Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix
  • Highly creative with the ability to think outside the box
  • Proven ability to project manage and multi-task complex projects and deliver results
  • Good understanding of planning and implementing brand led digital marketing campaigns
  • Have a passion for digital marketing with a results-oriented approach evident
  • Be a well-organized, high achiever with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with all the relevant internal stakeholders to ensure full buy in, participation and facilitation
  • Excellent IT Skills (Excel, Power-point Microsoft, experience working with content management systems, Google Analytics, AdWords, Firebase and Facebook insights)
  • Preferably Knowledge of Adobe Cloud Applications (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere)
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Preferably experience in building emails using 3rd party software and different customer journeys
  • Media experience to execute/assist the creation of content
  • Be an ambitious, energetic and creative marketing professional
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a high level of literacy and accuracy, with an excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle a busy workload always
  • Have a strong understanding and enthusiasm around technology, especially digital products and services
