SUMMARY:

Provides franchisee consulting on all areas of the operation of a franchised Circle K Store. Business support will be primarily focused in the areas of Operations, Marketing and Merchandising.  Other support elements may include Loss Prevention, Human Resources and Training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures financial integrity of franchisee by reviewing reports; assists franchisee in investigating irregularities in profitability, providing guidance relating to operating expenses. Evaluate franchisee promotional activities and make improvement recommendations.
  • Ensures franchisees receive accurate marketing/merchandising tools and direction to maximize income opportunities by publishing and communicating vendor lists, marketing information, ordering marketing tools, and managing distribution lists.
  • Responsible for interfacing with Regional Marketing staff to ensure that Co-Op marketing programs "fit" the Circle K Franchise world by modifying programs, attending regional  marketing meetings, meeting with regional suppliers.
  • Ensures franchisees maximize discounts, rebates and placement allowances by communicating and evaluating compliance requirements for franchisees on local and national programs and reviewing compliance with all contractual merchandise/display agreements thru training, education and store visits.
  • Develops constructive relationships with suppliers by acting as liaison with local product suppliers by conducting business reviews, assisting franchisees in resolving difficulties, assisting franchisees with supplier changes and contacting, coordinating, and trouble- shooting supplier related issues.
  • Provides training to franchisees on all elements of the Business System with a focus on marketing and merchandising concepts/programs.
  • Maintains Point-of-Purchase (POP) by assisting with the ordering local promotional POP; maintaining POP inventory; and disclosing POP placement through published information.
  • Maintains competitive pricing position by monitoring pricing activity of competition, evaluating trends and market conditions; and recommending retail adjustments.
  • Works with local publisher and established advertising agencies on the development and implementation of Grand Openings and other store marketing programs.
  • Participates and assists the franchisee with new store openings and site conversions, including floor layout, initial merchandising, vendor communication and support, POP ordering and execution, equipment training.
  • Provides support in the areas of operation, human resources, training, loss prevention and IT on an as needed basis.

    REQUIREMENTS:

  • Some overnight travel required.  (Approximately 1-2 nights per month)
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelors Degree and 5 years of experience in business, retail operations, merchandising and/or marketing in the convenience and fuel retail channel.
  • Experience in c-store retail operations preferred.
  • Experience in reading and understanding P&L's, and other related reports as well as basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Experience with presenting concepts and ideas to small groups, coupled with good public speaking and interpersonal skills.
