JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Fuel Distribution Supervisor manages fuel operations throughout specific geographic areas of North America. This position directs in a timely and accurate manner all deliveries, inventory levels, backhaul activities, including hauler management, equipment utilization, and freight spend for their area. The Fuel Distribution Supervisor oversees record keeping and compliance in accordance with Company's policies and procedures and DOT regulations. The Supervisor reports to a Fleet Manger and is a key member of the North American Fuel Distribution team. This Supervisor will have the opportunity to lead projects and actively participate in larger strategic company initiatives. The Supervisor provides day to day management of our Fuel Auditors within their geographic area of responsibility. This includes: hiring, training, evaluating, discipline and developing the Fuel Auditor workforce.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of arbitrage capture efforts by working with team members, common carriers, and our market analyst. Evaluate current tools and processes to enhance performance and streamline reporting.
  • Evaluates dispatch systems capabilities and dispatch process efficiencies to effect improved levels of service for the users and customers. Develop and maintain team member performance by training, coaching, and dissemination of best practices. Assist with the planning, monitoring and appraising job results through established individual, team and departmental goals.
  • Assist with the implementation of a new Dispatch Software platform with fuel distribution staff, fuels accounting, IT, and our common carrier base.
  • Develops and implements configuration processes in order to integrate new assets from future acquisitions. Trains the appropriate team members to ensure that all needs can be met as dispatch interfaces with other parts of the organization.
  • Develops and implements internal testing procedures to ensure system quality and recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of existing product(s). Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment/software to increase efficiency of department.
  • Analyzes transportation metrics by monitoring key performance indicators and financial objectives.
  • Resolves complaints by interfacing with contractors, dispatchers, and customers; follows up to ensure resolution; ensures claims are filed to recover damages to property or product.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred. Other combinations of job related experience and education that meet the requirements may be substituted.
  • Seven years of experience preferred working in the petroleum transportation industry; including a minimum of three years of supervisory responsibility. Experience working for a petroleum transportation company is desired.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, SQL Server Reports, and database management. Strong data mining skills required.
  • Experience with Transportation Dispatch Software such as TMW, FuelQuest, Tela Point, Aspen or similar
  • Possess strong analytical skills and process development capability. Interpersonal skills required to interface with multiple departments, vendors, and team members to effect positive relationships and cooperation
