Job Brief:

We are looking for a Learning & Development Specialist to enhance the competencies of individual employees, marketing teams as well as the larger marketing and merchandising organization by designing content and conducting training programs that will boost employees workplace performance in alliance with company’s core values. This role will be responsible for performing training needs assessments, designing and delivering curriculum and learning materials and for managing all phases of training initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Global Center of Excellence, Merchandising & Marketing team
  • Identifying training needs by evaluating opportunities and gaps in the marketing and merchandising organization
  • Translating requirements into trainings that will develop employees and improve performance and/or prepare them for the next step of their career path
  • Building annual training program and preparing teaching plans
  • Identifying training needs by evaluating opportunities and gaps in the marketing and merchandising organization
  • Translating requirements into locally relevant programs that will develop employees and improve performance and/or prepare them for the next step of their career path, including
    • Management of vendors
    • Delivery of key training modules/curricula
    • Link/liaison between HR, business units, etc.
  • Researching and consulting with subject matter experts (both internal and external) to create programs that are effective, current, relevant and compatible with Company policies and standards
  • Maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, and developing an understanding of the strategies and business operations of the Company
  • Building annual training program and preparing teaching plans
  • Developing and overseeing the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals
  • Directing structured learning experiences and monitor results
  • Acclimating new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions, including multi-day Category Management training session
  • Delivering training courses
  • Assessing training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior
  • Working with related budgeting processes, as appropriate
  • Periodically evaluating ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes
  • Accelerating the sharing of best practices and ideas between and amongst regions, departments and business units
  • Staying abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development, content development and training
  • Liaise with HR and external vendors
  • Identify and implement new technology to support global footprint

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Education, Training, HR or related field and/or education or experience in Marketing and Merchandising, including Category Management.
  • Experience in the retail/CPG industry and store operations is a plus
  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events in a business setting
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  • Knowledge of learning management software
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with talent management and succession planning
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis and calculate training ROI
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
  • Proficiency in MS Office and in database software
  • Travel required, some international.  Passport or travel documentation/visa required.
  • Must be fluent in English language, French a plus.
