About this opportunity

This position will be part of the North American Operational Excellence Team. The goal of our team is to identify the best and brightest ideas to support Store Operations and it's 65,000 employees. This can be accomplished through saving them time by reducing or eliminating the time it takes to do tasks, identifying tools from across the globe to enable Store Teams to be better operators and improve the employee or customer experience. 

You will become part of a talented team of specialists who have demonstrated skills in data, logistics, labor modeling, loss prevention, safety and store operations leadership.

Skills necessary to be successful in this position are to

  • Have a working knowledge of Retail Operations.
  • Have led multiple retail projects at one time, report to executive leadership project status and support Subject Matter Experts to stay on task and meet deadlines.
  • Strong PM fundamentals utilizing agile project methodology
  • Ability to lead large cross departmental and global teams through projects of considerable scale with solid organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to admit you don’t have all the answers and willingness to listen and learn from anyone regardless of position/title in the company.
  • Ability to think conceptually and to piece together solutions that may not exist today to solve a problem.
  • Possess a curious mind, why are things the way they are? Promote conversation and pull valuable ideas out of project teams through skilled framing of project challenges.
  • You will need to interact with project teams from across the globe providing great experience and opportunity to contribute on a global scale.
  • You will occasionally be presenting to the Executive Leadership Teams for one of the world’s largest convenience store operators.
  • Stand in the shoes of the Operations Team in the field to determine if solutions are applicable.
  • Have a history and references to support the qualities mentioned above.


  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or other project/program management certification
  • 4+ years’ experience in project planning and coordination and working on projects or programs requiring the integration of cross-functional business solutions
  • 2+ years’ experience using formal business process improvement methodologies
  • Experience managing operational or project financial budgets and leading project teams
  • Monitors and controls the overall project performance (timeline, budget, and resource utilization) against plan and looks to the project team to implement adjustments when issues are identified and require resolution.
  • Strong retail operations experience with working knowledge of store level processes/procedures.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite ( Excel, PowerPoint, and Skype & Word).
  • Must have a strong understanding of how to use technology tools including smart phones, tablets and laptops.
  • Able to lead a large diverse team (committees) on very large projects.
  • Must be able to travel as needed. Including local and across North America.
  • Must possess a Driver’s License and the ability to drive to multiple store locations
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field and/or 3-5 years of transferable business experience.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Candidate must always maintain a positive team attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities as described above.
