Job Description


  • Provide a proactive interface between Payroll client groups and the HRIS/HRIT teams to ensure effective coordination and delivery of Workday configurations, integrations, reporting and implementations.
  • Key team member in our Phase 2 (Canadian) and Phase 3 (European) implementations.
  • Develops and modifies complex solutions by formulating and defining system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
  • Designs, configures, thoroughly tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those solutions.
  • Keeps management informed by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information; preparing reports including progress reviews. Participates in cross-training, peer design and code reviews as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with requirements, policies, and regulations by enforcing adherence to corporate systems and policies; advising management on needed actions.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • 5+ years of demonstrated HR Systems (HCM/HRIS/HRIT) or 7+ years of functional experience required.
  • 2+ years of advanced development and/or configuration experience within Workday’s US Payroll required.
  • Experience in the creation of advanced reports, composite reports, calculated fields and dashboards in Workday required.
  • Experience in other Workday modules, such as Security, Time Tracking, Absence, Advanced Compensation and Canadian Payroll a strong plus.


  • Proven systems analysis, design, and problem solving skills. Strong organizational and project management skills and experience a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with minimal supervision and within multiple time constraints.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective communications with IT and business staff across the organization, as well as external parties.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HRMS/Payroll and Oracle database a plus.
  • Fluency in French a plus.
  • Experience in the convenience store or retail industry a strong plus.
  • Some travel likely but infrequent


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or payroll/accounting-related field. Applicable work experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • WorkDay Payroll Certification a plus
