Embedded Team

Our embedded team is comprised of software developers, quality assurance testers, payment architects and product integration specialists. They are responsible for developing integrated embedded and cloud systems, creating test environments to handle millions of transactions coming from tens of thousands of locations, and developing, integrating, testing and deploying new features to the Circle K environment.

Cloud Team

Our cloud team is comprised of software developers, software architects, and security specialists. They are responsible for developing and building on cloud-based platforms and embedded systems, working with APIs from multiple manufacturers and hosts and implementing them as well as collecting operational data and developing tools to analyze them. They also design the architecture and framework of our solutions while meeting security and performance requirements.

With over 30 years' experience in the tech industry Deepak leads the Ottawa innovation team. He started his career at Nortel and then lead Precidia Technologies and WannLynx. Now at Circle K Tech he encourages his team to explore, ask questions and look for patterns as he believes a mindset of curiosity is the key to innovation.

Tracey is a member of our embedded team. She holds a doctorate in Computer Science and has more than 25 years of embedded Linux software development experience. She has worked in a broad range of application spaces.

Robert is a member of our embedded team. He has a Computer Science Degree with more than 27 years' experience in planning and executing quality assurance methodologies and processes. He started his career at Nortel working on carrier grade and high availability telecom solutions before moving into the payments industry with Merchant Link and Shift4 Payments. Robert is currently working on C-store pump/screen control and data collection solutions at Circle K Tech.

Senior QA Tester

Russell is a member of the embedded team. He has a Master's Degree in Communication and Information Systems and has more than 17 years' experience in software design and programming on Linux, Windows, Android platforms. He wrote applications on Android mobile phones for Samsung and Sony and developed payment gateways for Merchant Link and Shift4 Payments. Currently at Circle K Tech, he works on FuelLynx, MediaLynx, YankLynx and SniffLynx solutions.

Salma is a member of our embedded team. Her background is Communications and Marketing and has experience in integrating our products seamlessly in the field. Her communication skills are essential to transferring our products into the field with the necessary manuals and support. As part of our quality assurance team and product integration, Salma know all our products inside and out, integrating and supporting them in the field. Her goal is to create seamless connections between the product development and product releases, ensuring that all our products and deployed and supported in the field.

Zaw is a member of our cloud team, and is an experienced Full Stack Software Developer with more than 15 years of industry experience. Currently at Circle K Tech he developed the QuikLynx cloud application.

Scott is a member our cloud team. With a Masters Degree in Engineering Scott has over 18 years’ experience. He was an integral part of the Precidia Technologies, Merchant Link and Shift 4 Payment teams. Now at Circle K Tech he develops the SniffLynx solution.

Our Recruitment Process

We will contact you for a short phone call to ask you a few questions to get to know your motivation and language skills better. Withing a few days you will receive feedback and information whether or not we would like to invite you for the first interview.

Meeting with recruiting manager and (optionally) a person from the team, where we can know your skills and you can get to know our projects better, tools and ways of working. You might be asked to complete a technical task before or during the meeting – of course we will let you know in advance!

During this meeting you will meet our HR colleague. We would like to know you better: your teamwork experience, your expectations. The meeting might be proceeded with occupational personality assessment.

You will meet a second-line manager or other internal stakeholder (e.g. Product Owner). The purpose of that meeting is to meet people you will work with and get more knowledge about the role. It helps both sides to make the right decision regarding the recruitment process!

If you go through the previous steps of the recruitment process successfully, we will ask you to provide us with a contact with one of your previous managers or key clients – We will ask them a few questions about the way you collaborate and your responsibilities.

After assessing values & culture fit and if your competences match the role we will let you know our decision. Nevertheless, you will get feedback from us.
